Ten Years with J&V, Cleaner Seas for You and Me: Group Coastal Cleanup Removes 461 kg of Marine Debris

Celebrating a decade of growth by giving the ocean a meaningful embrace. J&V Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (TWSE: 6869), an integrated low-carbon energy group in Asia, held a coastal cleanup on August 28 at Fengzhengping Beach in Wanli District, New Taipei City, as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

Under the theme “Ten Years with J&V, Cleaner Seas for You and Me” General Manager Shu-Min Chao, Vice President Yu-Hsuan Tan, and Chief Sustainability Officer and Spokesperson Chien-Wei Chang joined employees from the Group and its subsidiaries, including GREENET CO., LTD., Recharge Power Co., Ltd., and WEISHENG ENVIROTECH CO., LTD., for a hands-on cleanup along Taiwan’s northern coast. Together, participants removed approximately 461 kilograms of marine debris, marking the Group’s 10th anniversary with another meaningful step toward sustainability.

Marine debris has become an increasingly important environmental challenge worldwide. Plastic products, Styrofoam, discarded fishing gear, and other waste can remain in the marine environment for extended periods, affecting coastal ecosystems and potentially causing long-term impacts on marine biodiversity.

To help prevent waste from re-entering the ocean and reduce its impact on coastal ecosystems, employees worked together to collect and sort bottles, plastic fragments, and other debris, while also removing larger discarded items. Through hands-on participation, the team took direct action to help protect the marine environment.

J&V Energy General Manager Shu-Min Chao said, “This year marks the Group’s 10th anniversary. While it is an opportunity to look back on how far we have come, we also wanted to bring our employees together to give something back to Taiwan’s land and ocean. ‘Ten Years with J&V, Cleaner Seas for You and Me’ is more than just a slogan. We hope that by starting with simple actions—picking up a bottle or a piece of plastic—we can create positive change for the ocean, one small step at a time.”

To mark its 10th anniversary, J&V Energy brought together employees from across the Group and its subsidiaries for a coastal cleanup along Taiwan’s northern coast, removing a total of 461 kilograms of marine debris.

In recent years, J&V Energy has continued to support coastal and wetland conservation initiatives. Over the past four years, the Group has removed more than 2.06 metric tons of marine and coastal waste, transforming coastal cleanups and environmental conservation from one-time events into an ongoing commitment.

These initiatives also support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 14: Life Below Water. Through waste reduction, marine conservation, and employee engagement, J&V Energy continues to put its commitment to environmental sustainability into action.

From protecting coastlines and wetlands and caring for natural habitats to promoting resource recycling and reuse, J&V Energy continues to turn environmental awareness into long-term action.

As the Group enters its next decade, J&V Energy will continue working alongside employees and partners to create positive change—from advancing energy transition and carbon reduction to taking meaningful action in everyday life—leaving a more sustainable future for Taiwan’s land and oceans.

J&V Energy is committed to turning coastal cleanup and environmental conservation from individual events into long-term action. Over the past four years, the Group has removed more than 2.06 metric tons of marine and coastal waste.
